NEW BIKE

Sam is so excited to have a new bike! Up to this point he only had a tricycle with a handle on the back that we could push. We told him that until he showed us he could peddle he couldn't have a new bike.

BINGO! That was the motivator!

So on Sunday we told him we were going to TOY-R-US to "look" at bikes. He picked out the one he liked and road it around the store some.

I asked him, "Sam would you like to take this one home today?"
"Are you kidding Mama?"
"No, Sam. Really. Would you like to take it home today?"
"Oh, Mama, that would be wonderful. Thank you, so much!"

In the car he said, "I love you, Mom and Dad and I love my new bike."

He road it around our cul-de-sac the rest of Sunday. He's a little nervous on it because it's a lot higher then his tricycle and he asks for help going down hills some because we are still learning how to push the pedals backward to brake, but he loves it.

Awesome! I am shopping for Oldest's new bike myself. Course, his is a 21 speed mountain bike with 24 inch wheels.

But I do remember the days of training wheels. :)

Wow, big step! But isn't the response so gratifying!
