TIME CHANGE
So, does the time change really confuse your kids? I wanted to get Sam used to it as soon as possible, so even though it was 6:00 a.m. in his head, I got him up at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday. He was already awake and just playing in his crib, so it all worked out. He's usually yawning by 10:00 a.m. for his morning nap, but not on Sunday, yet I still put him down. He plays all afternoon and then takes a late nap at 3:00 and that worked out well. Going to bed for the night, at the normal hour, when it was still light out was a little tougher. I ended up having to keep him up an extra 45 minutes and then I gave him a bottle, but he eventually settled down and finally drifted off to sleep. He seems to have adjusted to it quickly. Is it hard in the fall going the other way? How did your little one handle it?

My kids seem to have a tough time for the first couple of days getting use to the time change. Of course it didn't help us yesterday that we went to the usual 8:30 am Sunday service!!! That was a tough one! Then yesterday my daughter decided not to take a nap however my son took a much longer nap than he usually does. For some reason this time change has been really hard on me- I am exhausted. I am thinking (from past experiences) that in a couple of days they will be adjusted. Hoping he adjusts to the time change okay:)
I hate dealing with the time changes and sleep. My kids are always off for a few weeks.
My older kids totally noticed yesterday that the day felt shorter. and I don't know about where you are but here we have to start blacking out the windows so they can fall asleep at night when it's still so bright.
Sounds like Samuel is adjusting well though.
P.S. You are so pretty. I've been reading some of your back posts with pictures and you are a beautiful mama!! I don't know how you do it!
I was thinking about your post last night. Little Man is only 2 months old, so I don't think the time change really impacted us; if so, it was only on Sunday.
But...since next time we "spring forward," he'll be over a year, I was wondering. If the few nights before the change I inch back his bedtime by 15 minutes (8:00, 7:45, 7:30, 7:15) then the last night when he goes to bed at 7:00 it'll actually be 8:00, if that will work. That way, we're only adding a few minutes in for a few days.
I'm curious to see if that will work next year. As for the fall...I'm thinking I'll try to inch forward his bedtime 15 minutes so that last night he's awake an extra hour, but is actually getting it back in sleep.
Just my random idea :)
It seems that we try to inch bedtime one way or the other based on the time change and it just plain does not work. Yet, it seems like DD adjusts fairly easily...now, if only I get her to sleep past 6am regularly. Again. Boy I miss those days when we're back to the 5am wake up. I sure thought those days were behind us!
