Maybe not best ever, but for entertaining fiction try Dorothea Benton Frank. Characters from one novel show up in others, kinda fun! They are always set in Coastal South Carolina.
Okay, these are always the hardest comments for me because I read, and read, and read. It depends on what you like, so I checked out your list. You have a varied taste, I see, just like me.
I think if you liked the Magyk series by Angie Sage, you will like The Hero and the Crown or The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley. I loved these two books. I love Lee Child books for great murder mysteries. I like Sarah Dessen for real YA life stories and a little romance (The Truth about Forever is a favorite one.) If you like contemporary Christian, I love anything by Lori Wick.
