ALWAYS FOLLOW DIRECTIONS

Samuel is now 8 months old so I decided to try him on stage 3 food...no dice...it has little junks in it and he doesn't have any teeth. He coughed a few times, gagged and cried. Then I remembered I had a stage 1 meat that I had saved because he didn't like it when we tried it 2 months ago. So I decided to try that again....

Here is what I decided to heat in the microwave.

If you want to try it too, do not heat it ONE SECOND LONGER then what it says or....

...this will happen to your microwave. Half of the amount in the jar ended up on the ceiling of the microwave.

Samuel ate the rest of it with some beans and did very well. Samuel just swallows the baby food and he has a very active gag reflex, so I haven't tried any "real" foods yet. I think we'll stick to stage two for awhile longer. Thanks for cleaning up the mess, Richard.

Yikes - what a mess. Our Samuel's gag reflex is incredibly strong. He will be one in two weeks and just starting eating puffs and cheerios without gagging. Anything thicker than stage 2 food gives him trouble. I have a feeling he'll be eating baby food for a while now and I'm hoping that he can at least try his cake on his birthday without getting sick.
