This is the one of the most selfish people I have ever heard of. She already has 6 little children, no partner, living in her mother's home with no job. Yippee, she's at least going to school. How is any of this thinking of those children? Then she finds some "quack" willing to impregnate her with 6 eggs. I WANT a lot of things too, but WANTING doesn't mean that I can or should have it. I think she's watched too many episodes of 17 AND COUNTING and JON AND KATE PLUS 8! If this woman writes a book or ends up with a TV show, you couldn't pay me enough to read it or watch it.
Here are my comments after watching the above clip:
She's "determined to succeed." There is only so much that determination can do. There has to be some planning and common sense.
She's "loving them unconditionally," and "accepting them unconditionally." Love and acceptance only go so far, especially when your unemployed.
"I'll stop my life for them and be present with them and hold them....." Yah, NO SHIT! Your going to have to stop your life...including going to the bathroom and breathing, for that matter. How are you going to be "present" with them, when your out working 24/7 to support all of them? HOLD THEM, are you kidding me....even an octopus couldn't "hold" 14 children.
"It's a gamble. I took a risk." Yes, you took a risk with these children having a good future, but who cares as long as YOU get what YOU want.
"A lot of couples do undergo this procedure..." I think the key word here is "couples." And even then, they don't have 6 children already and they generally plan how they are going to make all this work ahead of time.
"..it's more acceptable to society..." That's a load of crap...most of us are thinking, how in the world are you going to afford food, diapers, the time to finish your degree, work, clean and pay for all they "need." She's using the word "acceptable," like we're the ones with the screw loose for being so concerned about this. I don't care how many children you have, as long as YOU take care of them and not lay the burden on society!
"...I've chosen this unconventional kind of life and I didn't plan on it being unconventional. It just turned out that way." You chose to think of your needs above your children. Saying I didn't "plan" this is like saying, I didn't intend to sleep with that loser, it just "happened." Give me a break. Grow up!
"All I wanted was children." You had children. SIX OF THEM, no partner, no job and a tiny house. If I had known of this mother, before the octuplets came along, I would've already been concerned with how she was going to manage.
I could go on and on about the selfishness, short-sightedness and lack of common sense of this woman, but I have ONE child who needs my attention and I want to hear how you feel about all of this. Let the floodgates open........

Yup! When I heard about that I SO PISSED!! #1 what kind of ethical doctor would do that. Yes, the whole situation makes me made. Even more angry than Brangolina and her many childen who used IVF to her twins.
Honestly Tracey, I could not agree with you more. I have wanted to blog about this topic, but I am too pissed off about it. Well said Tracey! This woman is nothing but selfish and is not thinking of those children. That doctor should have his license yanked.
I even have a hard time providing to my two kids how much more with her. Quality is by far better than quantity.

I know! She alone is going to bankrupt what is left of California. I hope when they took the kids out they also took her uterus. She hasn't even worked since the mid 90's from what I understand, due to an "injury" and has been on disability. Of course she hasn't even been parenting her other six children because she's undoubtedly been on bed rest since the 5th week of pregnancy.
Also, upset about the Brangolina thing as well. These people need to stop collecting children to fulfill whatever need it is fulfilling in them.

I can't imagine what was going through Nadya Suleman's mind when she decided to have IVF again, when she already has 6 children. We are all capable of making stupid choices however and I refuse to judge someone I've never even met. All I know is that both Nadya and every single one of her 14 children are incredibly precious to God.
I'm just glad we have a God of grace (ie favour and riches for the undeserving). I reckon Nadya and her children are going to need all the undeserved favour and riches they can get. So here's praying for oodles of grace for all the Sulemans and a happy, healthy childhood, against the odds, for all her children.
