AN HOUR IN A DAY

Stacey is hosting AN HOUR IN A DAY. Here is my entry....

Join me on staceysmotheringmoments.com

As I grow as a person and a mother I am coming, to see more and more, that there may not be enough hours in the day for EVERYTHING:

...wash the floor
...paint the baseboards
...vacuum
...wash the dishes
...wash clothes
...fold clothes
...hand clothes
...iron clothes
...prune the trees
...shampoo the carpet
...clean the toilets
...organize the sewing room
...finish making ________ (insert here)
...errands
...dust
...make curtains
...etc....etc....etc....

BUT....there are plenty of hours in a day for what is TRULY important:

...reading "I Love You Stinky Face."

...discuss what shapes the clouds make.
...walking though puddles.
...watching the elephants at the zoo.
...feeding the birds.
...drawing chalk pictures on the driveway.
...building a fort.
...hide and go seek.
...sing songs.
...watching the construction trucks moving big piles of dirt.
...discussing how big the moon is.
...saying goodnight to Grandpa in our prayers.
...jumping on the bed.
...stirring cookie dough.
...rolling down hills.

Oh I love this!! There are enough hours for the important things and it's great to be reminded what the important things are!

yeah, I'm with you for sure...who really cares if all the list above gets done when children and loved ones are waiting!

After we moved into this house I kept trying to remind B of that, yes we needed to get things unpacked but we also needed to make sure that we were spending time with the kids a well. unpacking all the extra stuff can wait for a bit.

Even more important, in my view, if you have a job outside the home. Your window of opportunity for this really valuable stuff is a bit smaller and your ability to seize it so important!
