FIRST FEVER

I got home today at 3:30 and Richard had given Sam a dose of Tylenol because he had a temperature of 101. He was a little stuffy headed too, but he had no other cold symptoms, so I'm not sure what brought the fever on, but it's the first one he's had.

He was droopy eyed and snuggling with Daddy on the couch watching HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON. When Sam saw me walk in the door all he wanted was for Mama to hold him and rock him. So we spent the next three hours in the rocking chair. I got nothing done and I don't even care. I certainly don't want my baby to be sick, but it was so nice just to hold him, cuddle and know that I can make him feel better.

By the time Sam went to bed tonight, with his night time dose of Motrin, his temperature was down to 99.

All is right with the world.

He's two and this is his first fever ever? Wow. I wish we'd gone that long without a fever. Aren't they pathetic when they are sick? Definitely makes for good snuggle times though.

Awe! Boy's and their mommies. :) Ella was like that too. She must have been near his age when she got her first fever as well. Still has never been on antibiotics. Not because I'm against it, but she's just never needed it. I hope he feels better soon!!!
