COFFEE WOES

Do these things ever work for you!?! Another morning where I set my coffee maker and walk away and when I come back after the perking and bubbling is over.....what do I get....a coffee pot full of grounds! YUCK! I have tried setting the coffee maker the night before, the day off, different brands of filters, adding less coffee and adding more coffee. The only way I can guarantee that the filter won't collapse on one side is to stand there and watch it!

You need a Bunn! :) We love it.

I have never had that happen to me. Ours came with a goldtone filter... sometimes I put a regular on in there too. We have a cuisinart, and i love it. It's also programmable. Are you sure your using the correct filter for the maker you have?

I think you can get a metal reusable filter that is like a fine mesh net thing with supports on the side. It doesn't collapse. Look around at Target or a kitchen specialty store.

Yup, that metal filter is called a gold toned filter. some of the coffee makers will come with them, but you can puchase them seperatly too.

A metal filter...what a clever fix for a problem you have been putting up with for YEARS!

If you put a little water in the basket, and roll it around the sides get the filter wet so it'll stick to the sides BEFORE you put the coffee grounds in...works for me! (Of course, this won't work for the night before...) I hadn't had that problem for a while, but it's what I used to do. Maybe one way to get rid of the paper liners BEFORE you buy anything else!
