A YEAR AGO TODAY!
A year ago today we got "the call." My caseworker, Lisa, called to say that we had been chosen by a birth mom and she wanted to meet us! My heart stood still. I called my husband immediately and he couldn't believe it either. We hadn't planned on meeting the birth mom because I was still planning on having a "closed" adoption. At this point I was still feeling that this would be MY baby and I don't want anyone else involved. We were very nervous, but open to meeting her, if nothing more then to move this process along. Little did I know how my heart would change in just 48 hours.....

We celebrated the anniverary of our "call" on July 24. Its a great to remember back to all of that excitment and wonder. Congratulations.
Congratulations!! I remember vividly both times we got the call. Well the first time wasn't actually the call but in person and we were totally not expecting it!
I remember that. So wonderful! I enjoyed following your heart change from closed to open adoption. I do understand the feeling of closed. So, happy for you.
Such a special memory...special story. I will NEVER forget our call day....
