GOD DOES NOT MAKE MISTAKES

On Saturday I wrote my opinion and first impressions of the show 16 AND PREGNANT.

It seems I ruffled a lot of feathers by being "disgusted" by these kids choices to have sex. No where in that post did I say that I was "disgusted" that they chose adoption. And yes, even though I have an adopted son, I still feel teenagers having sex is WRONG! Of course if they do have a child (in most cases) there best choice of action, I feel, is adoption.

The main point of my post was at the end where I said, "I think all mom's should watch this show with their teenagers, boys and girls and really discuss the consequences of their actions. All choices have consequences. What do you want for your future? What do you need to do so that you get there? Will having sex with your boyfriend/girlfriend get you there? How do you think your life would change if you had a child now?

THESE GIRLS REALLY HAVE NO CLUE...HOW DO WE GET THROUGH TO THESE YOUNG KIDS? I
KNOW I OWE MY SON TO A YOUNG GIRL WHO MADE A MISTAKE, BUT REALLY...IT'S SO OBVIOUS THESE GIRLS REALLY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT A REAL MAN IS SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE...THEY SELL THEMSELVES SO SHORT. NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE ANY GOALS OR PLANS! AS PARENTS, WHAT IS THE PIECE WE FORGETTING TO TEACH? WHAT IS THE PART THAT THE CHILDREN JUST AREN'T GETTING?"

I did not say my son was a mistake...GOD DOESN'T MAKE MISTAKES! I said, their choice to have sex was a mistake. Samuel was chosen by God to be our child no matter what, adoption is just the avenue He chose to give him to us.

I heard somewhere that you can either, "make the right choices or make the wrong choice right."  This is what making the choice of adoption is....having sex too early is not right....giving your child a better life is.

I did watch the Reunion/Finale show and I am glad they admitted they shouldn't have had sex...but the fact remains that we need to do something to reach teenagers so that they won't have sex. I don't necessarily think that the ones who chose to parent, made the best decision. They are being strong, yes, because they have to be, to parent these babies while they are still kids themselves. I do not think these young marriages will work and I think their children are, more then likely, going to repeat the same mistake....yes I said mistake again...of having sex as teenagers.

I will not apologize for my opinion. I deleted a couple of anonymous comments because I am all for allowing others opinions, if you are not a coward in expressing them. One anonymous commenter told me they would not be following me anymore...that is their choice...life goes on.

My opinion on the show at first was that it was going to be awful and just promote teen sex. But after seeing only a couple of the episodes including the adoption one and the reunion I was very impressed. Because it does show a very true life example of what it's like parenting at that young age. And I think more kids that age will watch it (probably without their parents in the room) and understand the possible outcome of their actions. Will it change them if they are already living that life, not likely, but it will most likely stop some from starting that lifestyle that would have.

As far as what parents can do, what parents are missing. It's parenting their kids. It's being the father that these girls need. Being the couple that will show your sons how to treat women. But that's just my opinion.

I can't find my blog said...

Sorry you had some trolls. I agree with you 100%! And I didn't think that what you said was so wrong, either.

I agree with you.......and what Debbie said, kids aren't being parented and they are not be taught God's word.
Look at us, fostering our nephew's son........he's finally talking about signing but, 17 yr. old 'babymama' says that she never will. Do you know what kind of life this child will have if a court gives him back to her?!!!
Please pray we are able to adopt this angel.........that did not ask to be brought into this mess!
