INGREDIENTS:
3/4 C shortening
1 C firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 C white sugar
2 T milk
1 T vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 3/4 C flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 C chocolate chips
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Beat shortening and both sugars with an electric mixer at medium, until it's well blended and fluffy. Beat in milk, vanilla and the egg. Stir in flour, salt and baking soda. Mix in the chocolate chips last. Drop spoonfulls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 12 minutes, longer if you like them crispy.
