Colors of Autumn in New Hampshire...

If you've read my blog, you may know that I grew up in New Hampshire and now live in New Mexico. You might want to read this post about the trip I took back there this past summer, for the BIG 40!

I still have some friends that live back there and they know I miss the beautiful foliage. This is Mike and his son. I went to high school with him. Every year I ask him for pictures of the leaves changing. First he told me his camera was broken, but that he had sent me some "pictures of the foliage" through the US mail. I got an envelope of leaves.

Then he emailed me these gorgeous pictures.

This first set of photos was taken in my home town...Lincoln.

This group of photos was taken on a drive, Mike took, in the Franconia Notch. It's just a short drive up the highway. He made a point of telling me that he risked life and limb to take these, especially, for me, because he took them...WHILE...driving at the same time.

I especially like the one that says..."Watch for Moose!"

In contrast...here is Autumn in New Mexico. These pictures were taken yesterday in my front yard.

I love New Mexico weather, but you just can't beat the colors that leaves turn in New Hampshire.

Ah yes, the autumn "glow" set off by New Mexico's xeroscaped yards.

Something I remember from our stay at White Sands Missile Range a few years back.

I miss Alaska trees- though fall only lasts a week in the Last Frontier.

Beautiful photos. I love seeing the leaves change. One of the things I love about living in NJ is the change of seasons.

I agree...you just can't beat the beauty of fall colors. What a sweet friend you have to send you pictures of the colors of home.

God Bless,
Amy:)

Yeah, south Texas loses its leaves when the new ones push the old ones off. Just now our pear trees are blossoming.

It's a trade off to have fresh home grown fruit year round,(oranges in Dec, grapefruit in Jan, pears in Feb, lemons in June, limes in Sept) but I too miss the changing leaves of the north.

Those photos are just gorgeous. I've always wanted to visit up there in the fall. Thanks for posting them so I could get a virtual glimpse!
