THE MENTALIST is Patrick Jane. In his phony psychic days, he used his "fake" skills to make people think he could talk to the dead and he even had the police believing in his abilities. Then on a talk show one day, he, not too favorably mentions, a serial killer, "Red John," that the police are trying to find. The serial killer takes offence and kills Jane's wife and child. Now he has reformed himself, admits he was a fake and uses his abilities for good to solve crimes. He is very good at observation and reading people and environments. He's a tragic character, for he can't forgive himself for his lies causing his family's death. It keeps my interest because I find myself trying to figure out the clues that he is seeing and how they relate to the case.

I found your blog via the nod you gave Stacey & me. Thank you for that. I found myself captivated because you are waiting for your adoption.
I want you to know that I have been where you are. My son is now 2 1/2 years old . . . but the memories of his birth and the following days waiting to see if he would indeed be ours and his adoption (and the ones that fell through) are as vivid as they were on the day. I just said a prayer for you. You are on the brink of a remarkable journey. May you be blessed by the process. I can't wait to hear more.
