FAVORITE THINGS FRIDAY #2...Christmas Wreaths in Spring?

God has blessed me with a very creative and artistic side. I love to make things: x-stitch, quilts, painting murals and sewing projects. I'm always looking for new craft ideas. My mother and I will go to a craft fair and see something we love, but be shocked at the price and almost at the same time say, "We could make that ourselves," and we have many times.

I shop and make things all year long for Christmas gifts, so I wanted to show you a great idea that is easy and all my friends have loved them. I love to make wreaths.

Wreaths are quick (45 minutes each), easy to make, never die and can be used outside. They come in a variety of sizes. I've made one for each season. I get my bulk materials at Hobby Lobby. I have also found some items at yard sales, thrift stores and Wal-Mart.

This one is for Christmas. It's one of my favorites. One year I made fifteen of them and gave them away as gifts. You can use decorations that fit different personalities and color schemes. I have three or four that Richard hangs up outside and I don't have to worry about the weather damaging them.

You will need:
* wreath frame (grape vine or evergreen)
* wire
* hot glue gun
* ribbon
* decorations that match your theme

First, I attach a small piece of ribbon (in a loop) on the back to hang it with. Next, I arrange all my decorations around the wreath so I know it looks good before I start. Then, I use the wire to hang or attach the heavier decorations and hot glue to attach the lite ones. It's that simple! I'm not in the process of making any right now or I'd include pictures of the process, but I'm sure I'll show this later this year when I do make some.

PS. If you'd like I can custom make one for you. I can't get the Christmas wreaths until October/November time, though. Price depends on size.

Nice job! My mom and I like projects like that too....She always goes to the craft shoes with a pen and notepad and writes down all the things she needs to make the same things only "cheaper." :)

God Bless,
Amy:)

I love your wreaths. Great idea for gifts. It is so rewarding to give a home made gift that has been made with love.
