#5 I've heard on the news that some stores may be getting rid of plastic bags. So I went ahead and bought my own reusable ones. Go here to buy your eco-friendly bags. Fifteen bags cost me $29.85 ($1.99 each), plus shipping was $38.73. They are hand washable, can carry 22 lbs. of weight and they are really big too! I love them!
Not so fun facts:
* The petroleum used to make 18 plastic bags could drive a car for 1 mile.
* It's estimated that it takes a plastic bag over 500 years to decay in a landfill.
* The worldwide consumption of plastic bags is over 500 billion, over 1 million per minute.

We are in the process of trying to be more green too. We have one reusable shopping bag and plan to buy some more. We always take the plastic bags back to the store to recycle them, but I always wonder if they really do anything with them!
