FISH AND TRACTORS AND COWS, OH MY!

Today is our 8th wedding anniversary. We had a quiet day, but a fun one. We took Sam to the Aquarium and the Botanical Gardens.

I like that it's easy for him to run around and not fear that he would run off. He loves to talk to all the fish.

There are some windows that you can sit in so that it feels like you are in the tank.

If you are wondering why Sam has a weird look on his face, let me explain. See the moray eel in the background. Well this is a tunnel room that you walk through and the eels are on both sides of you and over your head. Sam has just realized that the eel is over his head.

There are some really cool tactile things for little kids too, like this giant star fish that is very bumpy.

I kept picking Sam up because he was only looking at the fish at his level and missing out on all the ones that were over his head.

We came upon this little boy who was about the same age as Sam and they immediately struck up a conversation about the jelly fish. My son will have no problems making friends.

I love this picture. Sam kept following this fish around the big tank, talking to him. "Where are you going, Fishy?" "How are you doing, Fishy?"

The largest tank had sharks and sea turtles in it.

Ignore the lady with no makeup! Isn't the little boy cute!

Here is Richard showing you how large the sharks are and Sam showing off his swimming skills.

After the Aquarium we went out to the Botanical Gardens. Richard and I hadn't been there in years and a lot had been added. If I had known there was a park, a duck pond and a working farm, I would have brought lunch and we could have had a picnic.

Sam is totally in love with this goose.

The ducks were so gentle and would take the crackers right out of our hands. We are thinking of getting one for the backyard....just kidding.

It wasn't until later that we found out that we weren't suppose to feed them. There were no signs saying anything to the contrary.

Sam loves watching the ducks swim.

Sam loved this tractor at the farm. He was not impressed by the cow and was actually a little scared of it.

He also got to see goats, chickens and the horses getting a bath.

I would have liked to have spent more time there, but there was a lot of walking involved, we got very hot and we didn't have enough water. The gardens were gorgeous. Next time we will plan better. We had a lot of fun!
