This was the old template right? My best guess is that blogger did some sort of upgrade or update and didn't recognize your custom file. If it were a Wordpress self hosted site I cold help, but I'm behind on blogspot knowledge.
That being said, I don't know why you were unable to comment on mine. Nor am I able to comment on yours with Open ID. I'll ask Tech Support.

I'm guessing it's something like what the above comment said. Have you taken a look at the HTML? Do you have your old design saved anywhere?
