JUNE ADVENTURES AND NEW HOUSE

We have had a very busy June. So you may remember that last year we SOLD our house in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to New Hampshire (PART 1, PART 2, PART 3, PART 4).
On June 8th (Almost exactly one year to the day that we arrived back here.) we closed on our new house, which is, just steps away from the family house I grew up in. It was built in 1931. I used to babysit for the people who owned it. I also knew the man that lived here before them. It is cute and quirky and I love it.

It's a beautiful house, but we will also need to do some updating. We are going to change the flooring, lighting, counters and backsplash in the kitchen. We will also paint almost every room. We are putting some tile down in the entrance, creating a fenced dog area and changing out some old doors. I am so excited to make it ours.
I tore off wallpaper in the upstairs bathroom.
We are going to update the vanity, mirror, lighting and floor.
We are also going to paint. It looks like this right now.

My sisters, Mary Kay and Karen came over to help. This is Mary Kay painting the master bedroom.
Here is Karen painting my son, Andrew's, room.
We also saw a bear run through our yard! I guess the adolescent ones can be very bold and cause a lot of problems.
Uncle Andy came up too and painted a room and even cleaned windows. Here he is having a very deep conversation with Andrew.
Then we took a gondola ride up to the top of Loon Mountain. From Father's Day to Columbus day our church holds services at the top of the mountain in an outdoor amphitheatre.
Then I spent a day cleaning floors and the basement.

There is very little wallpaper in this house. Thank God, but there is some in the closets. I love it, but my husband doesn't.
So I am taking it down in his closet....
I discovered a second layer of wallpaper.
Here is the pantry that I fell in love with!
I love the built in shelves around the fireplace.
I've already set up the playroom.
We have started unpacking boxes.
And....more boxes.....
....and more stuff.....(Eventually we are going to dimolish and rebuild that green garage too.)
.....and you guessed it more stuff. Good thing it is right around the corner from where all this stuff was stored.
It's a great corner lot, but a few trees needed to come down.....

So this has been my month so far.

We have had so much fun our first year back and my boys are loving living here. I love the school and the community and it's nice to finally have our own home. We haven't officially moved in yet, but that will happened in the next couple weeks.
